Dashboard

The dashboard has been designed to provide the looks that you want with the consideration that you will only fully appreciate when it comes time to put everything together. The front of the dashboard is separate from the dashboard top. This means that you can mount and wire up all of the instruments and heating / ventilation systems before fixing the top.

The top comes in two parts, one above the main instruments which then fixes onto the main top. Why?: to facilitate the DIY trimmer in you to apply vinyl or leather to the two top sections without having to farm it out to get trimmed.

The dashboard fixes to the original Z3 mounts at either end and has built in reinforcement fixings near the heater box which helps to set everything in place, it includes polished stainless steel end caps to help make it look even more beautiful. The glovebox includes the box itself, the polished stainless steel hinges and trim plus a number of fixing elements. The latching door is also included.

Already fixed in to the dashboard is the front centre air feed.

The heating and ventilation pack is a separate kit which interfaces between the Z3 system and your new dashboard. The pack allows Z3 managed air to flow to the normal three zones of windscreen (including side window vents), the front centre vent and to the footwell. It’s necessary to point out here that the front centre vent is installed in the front bulkhead panel which can be bought separately or as part of the comprehensive kit. It’s also worth mentioning that the front bulkhead panel is designed to fit around our centre console. There are ways around stopping here but why would you???

Buy this if you want the looks, the functionality, the ease of installation and the cost savings that are afforded by the simple design which makes it easy enough for a competent kit car builder to deliver a professional quality look. Think about getting someone else to fit it for you if you don’t have the resources, patience or competency to put it all together but still want the looks and functionality. Your installer will still appreciate the east of installation and you will appreciate the cost savings that he won’t have to pass on to you.
