Manufactured in mirror polished marine grade 316L stainless steel. This boot handle is a faithful replica of the original boot handle but with the added twist that it’s been simplified for the replica car market.
Unlike the original this one has a built in spring to return the push button, the original relies on a return spring further down the line, it makes life easier.
On the underside all you get is all you need, basically something to actuate a microswitch which in turn you will have configured to operate your Z3 or other donor car’s central locking system.
We have two versions:
The first offers a nice tidy plain push button. All it has to do is move in and out so that it can interact with your electronics.
The second version incorporates a functioning lock barrel with 2 keys. push the button as normal to operate the central locking. If the car is locked by the central locking then pushing the button will do nothing more than give your thumb a bit of gentle exercise. If the central locking is set to unlocked then the boot will unlock. If you turn the key to the locked position you will be prevented from pushing the button. In this way you can keep the boot locked whilst having the doors unlocked.
